Sometimes writing content is all about inspiration. What's relevant? Any festivals, events or movie releases that can help you relate to your audience? Any bank holidays you need to be aware of to pull back budgets?

Now that you have a few ideas, let's go over some useful hashtags you can use each month to help your posts reach more users.




 

January 2021

  • 12: 🧧 Chinese New Year #ChineseNewYear #LunarNewYear #YearOfTheOx The Chinese New Year festival celebrates the beginning of a new year in the traditional Chinese calendar. Also known as the Lunar New Year, it's an important holiday in China and the celebrations last 15 days.

  • 16: Mardi Gras #MardiGras Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is celebrated at the end of the Carnival season, and is the day before Ash Wednesday.

April 2021


  • 1: April Fools’ Day #AprilFools #AprilFoolsDay This is a great day to prank your friends and family. If your team tends to prank each other, share a post on what this year's prank is. Many companies prank customers by showcasing fake products.

  • 22: 🌍 Earth Day #EarthDay If the environment is a priority for you, Earth Day is great day to tell your customers what you're doing to make a difference (recycled packaging, lowering carbon footprint, planting trees, etc) and how they can make a difference too.

  • 25: 🛡 ANZAC Day #ANZACDay ANZAC day was created to celebrate soldiers from Australia and New Zealand who served in the Gallipoli Campaign in World War 1. ANZAC is now used to remember and honour all soldiers from Australia and New Zealand.


 

May 2021


  • 1: 💐 May Day #MayDay May Day is celebrated by many European countries as the start of Spring. There are many festivals and many countries have a bank holiday on this day. Check your budgets and celebrate!

  • 5: 🌮 Cinco de Mayo #CincoDeMayo Grab some tequila, make a margarita and make some tacos! Just so you actually know what you're celebrating, Cinco de Mayo commemorates the First Battle of Puebla, a battle in 1862 between Mexican and French forces.

  • 9: Mother’s Day (Second Sunday in May) #MothersDay Mother's Day honours all mothers and takes place at slightly different times around the world, but mostly during the month of May.

  • 31: 🇺🇸 Memorial Day (Last Monday in May) #MemorialDay #MDW Memorial Day is US holiday commemorating those who died in the military service for their country. The weekend usually kicks off summer fun in the US with barbecues, beach days and parades. Make sure to lower your budgets in the US that weekend.

 

June 2021


  • 4: 🍩 National Doughnut Day 🍩 #NationalDoughnutDay I would celebrate this day every day if I could, but sadly, my doctor does not recommend that may doughnuts. Even if you don't have a post for #NationalDoughnutDay, you might as well see if a shop near you is offering free doughnuts!

  • 20: Father’s Day (Third Sunday in June) #FathersDay This day celebrates all fathers and takes place in the US in June. In other countries, it takes place in either May or June.

  • 21: ☀️ First Day of Summer #FirstDayOfSummer This day kicks off summer for the northern half of the globe with the longest day of the year. There are many festivals and you can ask your audience what their summer plans after sharing yours.

  • 21: 📸 National Selfie Day #NationalSelfieDay Share your favourite team selfie or ask your customers to share a selfie of themselves with your product and tag you in the picture. Great way to generate user generated content!

 

July 2021


  • 4: 🎆 Independence Day #July4th Independence Day is a holiday in the US commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States, on July 4, 1776. With fireworks, barbecues, beach days and parades, wish your US audience a Happy 4th with a red, white and blue post 🇺🇸

  • 14: 🇫🇷 Bastille Day #BastilleDay This holiday is celebrated in France to commemorate the 1789 storming of the Bastille in Paris. The day is also celebrated in a few US cities, Canada, the UK, New Zealand, and Tahiti.

 

August 2021


  • 8: 🐱 International Cat Day #InternationalCatDay Post about how your favourite feline is a bigger fan of the Amazon box instead of the new, expensive cat tree you bought for them. Totally not a waste of $75.

  • 9: 📚 National Book Lovers Day #NationalBookLoversDay Connect with the bookworms in your audience. Are there any books you would recommend that are related to your industry? If you're in travel, what books would you recommend to inspire their next trip?

  • 19: 📷 World Photography Day #WorldPhotoDay Ask users to share their images with your brand and tag your brand it in for a chance to be featured on your profile. You'll be amazed at the fantastic user generated content you receive.

  • 26: 🐶 International Dog Day #InternationalDogDay I love dogs, so much so I am a very big supporter of #InternationalDogDay and brands that share photos of their furry friends instantly peak my interest. Share some photos of your team's canine pals for people like me.

 

September 2021

  • 6: Labor Day (First Monday in September) #LaborDay In the US, Labor Day is a federal holiday that honours workers. This is typically the last long weekend of the summer, so pull back your budgets.

  • 22: 🍂🍃🍂 First Day of Fall #FirstDayOfFall The official day when Fall starts -- not to be confused with the date I go into fall mode which is August 31st at midngith.

  • 27: 🏖 World Tourism Day #WorldTourismDay ✈️ This day was created by the UN in the 1980s to promote the importance of global tourism. Hoping we can all take advantage of it in 2021 🤞

 

October 2021


  • 31: 🎃 Halloween #Halloween Halloween celebrated around the world in different ways and is also known as Samhain or All Hallows Eve. Share a photo of you and your team getting into the spooky spirit 👻

 

November 2021

  • 26: Kwanzaa #Kwanzaa Kwanzaa was created by Dr. Maulana Karenga in 1966 to celebrate African hertiage in African-American culture. Wish your audience a Happy Kwanzaa!

  • 31: 🥳 New Year’s Eve 🥳 #NYE #NewYearsEve You did. We did. This is the last day of the year. There's nothing else left do but wish your audience a Happy New Year and right in the new year. 🥳
